New Updates: Skills Viewing, Management, and Tools Updates

Happy Holidays from all of us at SkillsEngine! As we approach the holiday season, we're excited to share with you our latest platform updates, thoughtfully designed with your needs in mind. This update includes: 

• New ability to view skills by skill type
• Remove and undo removals of individual skills 
• New “Tools & Technologies” skill set 
• Users can now delete profiles 

Improved Skills Viewing & Management

• Effortlessly toggle between viewing skills by skill type or skill set using the new dropdown next to the skills table title.
  • Note: this view is currently read only
  • In the current version of this new view, the skills are consolidated based on their references in our library. Aliased skills may not show up with their aliased title.
• Updated empty state for a profile that includes more instruction around building a profile from scratch. 
• Filter skills by each skill type: work activities, knowledges, soft skills, and tools & technologies.
• Now search exact skills and skill sets titles directly within the skills table.
• When adding a skill to a skill set, the search results now prioritize exact matches.
• Enhanced functionality for adding and creating skills.
• Experience a cleaner, more intuitive skills table with consolidated core edit actions––edit, delete, and copy–– under a single three-dot menu.

Remove Skills and Undo Removals

• View removed skill sets or individual skills on a profile in the new and improved 'Removed' section.
  • Note: Individually removed skills will be given their own category within the ‘Removed’ section titled, “Individually Removed Skills.” 
• Easily undo the removal of skill sets and individual skills.
  • Note: If a skill is removed and then later its parent skill set is removed, the individually removed skill will be grouped back together with its parent skill set.

New Tools and Technologies Skill Set

• On every profile, there is now a “Tools and Technologies” skill set, a dedicated category for more easily identifying and managing these essential skills.
  • Note: This skill set can be empty but cannot be fully removed from a profile.

Delete Profiles

• Users are now able to delete the profiles they own.
  • Note: This is a permanent action and cannot be undone.

Updates to the Cart 

• When building a profile, the skills cart will now clear after 2 weeks of inactivity.
• When adding items to the cart you may notice that the skill count (previously viewable when hovering over an information icon) has been removed. Please click into the profile or the skill set to view the skill count for that item. 

URL Updates

• We've updated our URLs to be more user friendly.
